- I thought just to bring you up to date with the
latest events in Florida.
We had a 'Teals of Florida' fly-in at Eagles
Nest on Saturday the 3rd of November.
My aircraft N897TB (#15) lives at Eagles Nest
and was joined by N1968S (#1), flown in from Hastings by Per Aanonsen
and N1322W (#35), which Stuart Hanley flew up from Hollywood FL.
Also present, but without their aircraft on this
occasion, were Guy Godfrey (#2) and Stephen Albers (#13 and #22).
Every one had a chance to fly each other's
aircraft and the weather conditions were perfect.
We had a couple of hours of intense conversation
over lunch on the relative benefits of long and short wings, flaps or
no flaps and engine options. We also had a chance to discuss the
aircraft's handling characteristics and each individual's methods of
dealing with them.
All in all, I think that we all got something
out of the day and it was really great to meet up with some real
characters.
Dan Nickols came up to Eagles Nest a couple of
days later and he and I had a chance to splash around in S/N 15 for a
while and bring each other up to speed on what was happening.
On Tuesday the 6th of November, we took 3
aircraft from EN to Lake Wier and back for lunch at Gator Joe's.
Kind regards,
Tom
