Scandinavian Registers

There are still a few Seabees flying in Scandinavia, most of them in Sweden - where at least five Seabees are flying.  A few Seabees are also under restoration. The last Seabee in Norway, LN-IKK (s/n 270), was sold to Sweden in 2003 and cancelled from Norwegian Register on 17 September 2004.  She was registered SE-AXR on 11 November 2004.

One Seabee (OH-EGA) is still on Finnish Register, owned by Mr. Matti Mecklin. OH-EGA is stored for future restoration.  There were also two Seabees on Iceland, one of which is reported to be under restoration (TF-VIA).

Two Seabees, SE-BXC and SE-CHF, are believed to be destroyed but are still on Swedish Register.

Summer 2004 an 'Experimental' Building Permit was issued to Mr. Sten Karlsson by EAA Chapter 222 for the restoration and rebuild of Seabee s/n 592.  S/n 592 was stored at Fiskflyg AB, Porjus, for several years, after being purchased from Germany for spares in the 1970s.  The Seabee was operated as D-ELPO in Germany from 1961 to 1971, when she was damaged in an water landing accident.  When the restoration is finished, s/n 592 will be registered SE-AXF.  Mr. Sten Karlsson is also the owner of beautiful SE-AXY.
