1989-09-22 When reducing engine power before landing at Lake "Langas" near Lake "Stora Sjöfallet", Norrland, in Northern Sweden, the propeller suddenly and uncontrolled entered reverse pitch. Due to rapid loss of speed, the aircraft entered av vertical dive into ground, some 1 km east of Lappviken.  Aircraft caught fire and was totally destroyed, some 600 m from the seaplane base.  The 19 year old pilot and the single passenger suffered serious burns.

Cause of accident: Due to incorrect installation (according to maker's incorrect instructions) of propeller reverse safety spring, the propeller entered negative pitch when control wire broke and engine power was reduced for landing. The young pilot had only 50 hours total time flight experience, of which 10 hrs were on Seabees.

The pilot was flying home from Kiruna to Stora Sjöfallet after his check ride for a type rating on Seabee in Kiruna. His father was his passenger during the return flight

Some 24 hours after the accident the aircraft started to burn again, and was totally destroyed by fire.

At the accident the aircraft had a TTSN: 3890 hrs, the GO-480-G1A6 engine TSOH: 1275 hrs, propeller TSOH: 950 hrs.

1990-08-31 C of A expired.
2006-10-18 Cancelled from Swedish CAR. Not airworthy for more than 3 years.
