1956-10-14 First flight from Bergamo Airport, Milan, Italy, by Ing. G. Ferrari.

From FLIGHT Magazine, 11 January 1957, page 42:

Nardi FN.333. The first prototype, which completed a series of test flights from Bergamo airfield last month, is back in the factory so that advantage can be taken of bad weather for inspections and modifications.

From FLIGHT Magazine, 25 January 1957, page 114:

Some time ago Fiat concluded an agreement with the Nardi company for the construction of four prototypes of the Nardi FN.333 single-engined, four-seat amphibian. The first of these made its first flight on October 14, piloted by Ing. G. Ferrari. Taking advantages of Fiat facilities, these machines will be tested and developed as quickly as possible to confirm wit American C.A.A. specifications. Interest both in Italy and abroad so far suggests that series production of this aircraft may well prove to be justified.

1957-05-24 Static display at Paris Air Show, 22nd International Aeronautical Salon; Le Bourget, France (I-EUST?).

From FLIGHT Magazine, 31 May 1957, page 736:

Nardi FN 333. Fiat are building the first Nardi amphibians and test flying is continuing with the second prototype. One machine, brought to Paris by surface transport and displayed in the static park, has tiny bullet-shaped retractable floats and a retractable nosewheel undercarriage. The engine is a Lycoming 180 h.p. pusher. Of all-metal structure, the FN 333 has a small three-/four-seat cabin and slender twin booms. All engine cooling air is drawn in through two intakes in the wing root and dumped by the ejector exhausts. The long boat-shaped hull carries a retractable water rudder at the back. Main characteristics are: span, 33 ft ll in; length, 23 ft 11 in; empty weight, 1,962 lb; gross weight, 2,970 lb; top speed, 180 m.p.h.; ceiling, 19,685 ft; maximum range, 776 miles; and water take-off run, 1,385 ft.

1961-05-29 Static display at Paris Air Show, 24th International Aeronautical Salon; Le Bourget, France (I-EUST?).

From FLIGHT Magazine, 1 Juni 1961, page 740:

SIAI Marchetti FN.333 Riviera During the two years since the last Salon this type has undergone many trials and tribulations, but it is now established in production. The example in the static park is highly polished and attractive.

1960/61? Remanufactured by SIAI Marchetti; main wheel landing gear redesigned to fold into aft fuselage, instead of wings. Wing roots redesign after removal of main wheels wheel wells. Became s/n 101?
