1955-01-24 Crashed into ground when entering uncontrollable spin near Linate Airport (LIML), Milano, Italy, during test flight at maximum weight. Test pilot Nello Valzania was killed. Accident was probably due to unexpected and abrupt change of center of gravity during spin test.

From FLIGHT Magazine, 11 February 1955, page 166:

Italian Loss
DUE to be flown from Florence to New York by Maner Lualdi, the new Nardi FN.333 amphibian has been destroyed in an accident during a makers' test flight. Maj. Nello Valzania, one of the most experienced Italian test pilots, was carrying out stalling trials when the aircraft entered a spin from which it did not recover. At the time of going to press it is not known whether Maj. Valzania escaped. It was he who broke the world 1,000 km closed circuit record for aircraft under 500 kg with the Rondone F.4 last December.

WARNING: Identity of aircraft has not been confirmed!

1957-03-29 From FLIGHT Magazine, 29 March 1957, page 407:

The Nardi FN.333 amphibian is not flying at present. The first pilot to fly the type was killed when the aircraft spun involuntarily during a stall check with flaps down. It was rebuilt and Ing. Ferrari took it into the air, but he has now ceased his work on the type. The machine has now completed its initial tests and certification tests are under way.
