When
I was 10-11 yers old (at least 55 years ago!) my father bought the
Republic Seabee LV-NRN hydroplane. I scanned this old photo. My father,
Eng. Ruben Masel, can be seen entering the plane. I am the young boy
approaching the plane. I remember that when the plane was bought it had
to be raised from the bottom of a lake in Patagonia, South Argentina.
The previous owner has had an accident, and the wife convinced him to
sell. (Or maybe she was a widow.) This is the only one of the several
airplanes owned by my father of which I do remember the registration ("matrícula"
in Argentina), because he made a joke with the letters. That's why I am
