1947-07-11 Mullin Stream Lake, New Brunswick:
Pilot William Ernest Jarratt, Bathurst Air Services Limited, made a flight from Bathurst to Mullin Stream Lake. After being moored at lake for half an hour, pilot took off again. Short after take-off, during climb-out, pilot noticed a strong instability in pitch and he experienced great difficulty in controlling the aircraft. He immediately turned around for an emergency landing on Mullin Stream Lake. Unable to retract the wheels due to hydraulic failure, the pilot run the aircraft up on shore on its hull. Upon examining the aircraft, pilot found that the two compartments next to the tail where filled with water. The drain plug was missing from second compartment from the stern. The aircraft was flown back to Bathurst on Tuesday July 15th. [Canadian CAR File # 5008-D12-20, Reel T7945].
1947-07-11 Ferry flight from Mullin Stream Lake to Bathurst by W. E. Jarratt.
1947-07-23 Holmes Lake, New Brunswick:
Pilot William Ernest Jarratt, Bathurst Air Services Limited, landed in Holmes Lake about 1430 hours on a chartered flight from Bathurst. After unloading his cargo, he taxied to the west end of the lake for take-off.

The wind direction was from the south, but due to the surrounding hills, its direction and strength were erratic and due to the shape of lake, Jarratt had to take off across wind.

Jarratt proceeded to take off from west to east. A few seconds after reaching full throttle, he noticed that the port wing pontoon was submerged. Jarrett immediately closed the throttle and attempted to lift the wing. He then noticed that the pontoon was bent inward at and angle of about 45 degrees and that water was entering the wing through the hole.

The aircraft began to turn slowly on to its port side and, fearing that it was going to go over on its back, Jarratt stopped the engine and abandoned the aircraft. He was picked up about ten minutes later by a motor boat.

About ten minutes later, the aircraft turned completely over on its back and drifted slowly to shore were it came to rest in about 12 feet of water.

An inspection of aircraft was made on 1947-08-05, and the aircraft was raised by air-filled gasoline drums and brought to shore. Aircraft and engine were then drained for water and prepared for ferry flight out of lake, engine running by 1947-08-15. On 1947-08-21 District Inspector, Air Regulations, issued an authority for ferry flight from Holmes Lake to New Glasgow.

1952-08-01 Lake St. Louis, Beaconsfield, Quebec:
The Seabee was sank at moorings, due to poor weather.

Note from H. F. Staniforth to DoT, Air Services, Dorval, Quebec - Dated August 15th, 1952:

The Seabee was moored at a buoy off shore in Lake St. Louis opposite 59 Lakeshore Road, Beaconsfield, P.Q.

The aircraft was swamped due to previous heavy weather and sank at its mooring in 10 feet of water. With the help of 3 barges the craft was recovered and beached on August 4th. D & S Aviation were called upon and removed engine accessories to recondition them for serviceability. Curtiss Reid were called upon to check the airframe and replace left windshield and top window.

It is understood that the noted firms will undertake to certify the aircraft for ferry flight to Orillia, Ontario, and it is my desire to ferry the said aircraft there for renewal of C. of A. because of better facilities available there for water based aircraft. There is no such facilities available in Montreal district.
