mile North of Depot Lake, Ontario: Due to engine failure/fire, aircraft made a forced landing in the bush approximately 22 miles from base. The aircraft was destroyed beyond repair by impact/fire. No injuries to pilot George G. Smith (C-5358). Examination revealed that due to intake valve of #6 cylinder breaking off about 1" from head of valve, gas in the intake manifold took fire.
