Mrs. Jack Whitney In Kenora Hospital After Plane Crash

Kenora, Ont., Canada — Mrs. Jack Whitney, Gladstone Rt. 1, is recovering in St. Joseph’s hospital here from serious injuries suffered when the Seebee (sic) airplane, in which her husband and herself were traveling, crashed in a take off a week ago.
The pair was holidaying near Oak Island, close to the international border. Mr. Whitney, who was at the controls, reported that the engine failed just after leaving the water and he was forced to make a quick decision of a forced landing in bush and rock or trying the lake.
The aircraft was badly damaged in landing, and Mr. Whitney was fortunate in escaping with only cuts and bruises. He released Mrs. Whitney and got her to shoe (sic) after great difficulty.
Mrs. Whitney was rushed to the hospital in Kenora, where Dr. G. Wolfe reports her condition as good. She suffered a broken shoulder, broken pelvis and other injuries.
